Developed in partnership with research consultancy AND Implementation and funded by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) under the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, the report is now available to organizations and the public.

“We wanted to understand the real experiences of entrepreneurs in our community and share our learning journey so other organizations can do this work alongside us,” said Shauna Harper, CEO of WeBC. “Entepreneurs in BC are incredibly diverse, and we’ve learned that the resiliency required to overcome barriers makes for great entrepreneurial skills. This report is both a reflection of WeBC’s accessibility and an invitation for organizations to join us in advancing equity and belonging.”

Serving over 24,000 business owners annually, WeBC undertook this study to better understand the real experiences of women, non-binary, and gender-diverse entrepreneurs, as well as Indigenous, immigrant, and rural business owners. The research included surveys, interviews, and focus groups with a broad range of respondents, ensuring diverse perspectives and lived experiences were represented.

Rather than providing a plug-and-play toolkit, the report offers a framework for discovery—sharing WeBC’s learning journey and making its commitments public.

Shauna Harper added, “It’s not a plug-and-play solution. We’re sharing our process, our discoveries, and our commitments so other organizations can reflect, adapt, and build more inclusive ecosystems in their own way.”

Our products are unisex and we offer an inclusive size range that can be hard to find in other outerwear brands. We use a lot of merino and bamboo blends that feel and function for hiking long and short distances.

We primarily sell in person at markets out of our very unique pop-up store; a converted shipping container, mounted on a large F750 truck that is really a unique experience for guests to shop in. The inside of the store reflects natural luxury appeal of the brand and our products.

Our products offer unique features like a packable pullover jacket that is water-resistant on the outside, and a merino jersey blend on the inside. It features a built-in bug net, and it packs into an easy-to-carry bag or travel pillow size.

We offer lifetime repair warranty on all of our products, including respray of DWR coating on our water resistant fabrics. We also offer repairs as a service for any of your other apparel. It’s important to us that we can try and keep things in their first life as long as possible.

I provide a unique and highly effective massage therapy treatment, in which I use my feet to massage my clients. This modality of massage is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment from the south of India. It allows the practitioner to do long sweeping massage strokes that span the whole body. This helps the body to relax and receive deeper tension release. The practitioner can distribute weight and pressure depth by use of a rope hung overhead. The treatment actually stretches the muscles and can penetrate as deeply or as gently as the client prefers. The foot perfectly matches the contours of the body’s muscles, allowing for ease of tension release.

Massage delivered by foot pressure is very rare in the western world. Most people are very nicely surprised by it’s effective nature and how great they feel afterwards.

Through a blend of Reiki, Conscious Connected Breathwork, Meditation, and Mentorship, Jennifer guides clients to release stress, restore balance, and rediscover their sense of purpose.

Each session is personalized to meet you where you are, whether you’re seeking emotional healing, creative inspiration, or deeper self-understanding. Reiki works on an energetic level to restore harmony and support the body’s natural healing process. Breathwork helps clear emotional blocks and expand awareness. Meditation reconnects you to your inner voice, while Mentorship offers practical and intuitive guidance to bring your dreams and ideas to life.

Founder Jennifer Kanyumwa brings over 20 years of experience in wellness, marketing, and personal growth, bridging the practical and the spiritual. Through her sessions, she guides clients to quiet the noise, find their own voice, and bring their visions to life with renewed energy and ease.

Sessions are available online and in person for individuals, groups, and organizations. Workshops and retreats weave in Breathwork, Reiki, Meditation, Self-Reflection, and guided practices to nurture expansion from within.

We are a curated wellness space designed to support mental, emotional and spiritual well-being by providing a variety of mindful practices, therapeutic activities and community events.

We’re bringing the gym model (a drop-in space for your physical health) to mental health and wellness. Having a space outside your home dedicated to self-care removes barriers, increases flexibility and provides community support.
